Ramblings from a rambler.

Thank Heaven for Neighborhood Kids

I have the great fortune to live on the same street as some very responsible young ladies who LOVE taking care of Grey. It’s a win-win-win! I get a little time to do household chores or (what I usually end up doing) blog. He gets to hang out with some awesome role models and learn new games from them. They are definitely the ones who taught him hide-and-go-seek. And they get a little pocket money from their first job.

In the warmer months, they often spend the whole time outside, but have mostly been running and squealing around indoors since winter began. So I was happily surprised when they asked if they could take him out sledding on our street. It doesn’t get plowed, so there was a good several inches of new snow for them to play in. I wasn’t sure how it would go since our epic failure sledding with Grey earlier in the month, but maybe he didn’t care since they were weren’t careening out of control down a hill. It took us just a little bit of time to get Grey in all his layers including his waterproof and insulated Merrell Toddler Snow Boots, but it was definitely worth it for him to get out of the house.

It made for a very “Christmas Card Worthy” moment!
