Ramblings from a rambler.

North Table Hike

John and I enjoyed our last chance to adventure baby free while Grey was at Superpa’s for the week. I wanted to push us and go for more distance than I would normally feel up to carrying Grey in the pack. So we headed to North Table to do the 7.5 mile loop around the whole mesa.

It was a beautiful day and we were perfectly dressed in my Columbia Vest and John’s Ortovox Merino Layer instead of a warmer coat. But much of the trail was holding firmly on to winter with packed down ice or slippery slush. That wouldn’t have been so bad except that the snow had been tromped in such a way that we were constantly walking on a 45 degree angle from left to right. It was a constant strain on the leg, ankle, and feet muscles to correct the slope and keep from sliding. I should have had my Yak Traks, but I had left them behind.

Anywho, we had a great hike, but safe to say we were both exhausted at mile 6 and dead by the time we made it back to the car.
