Ramblings from a rambler.

Hike at North Table

Today Grey and I met Diana (a mom friend I met on Peanut) and her son for a hike at North Table Mountain in Golden. It’s a real butt kicker straight uphill from the parking lot, but flattens out when you reach the top of the mesa. We did a little over 3 miles and the boys stayed warm in their layers and packs (even though Grey refused to be “cool” and wear his Toddler Mittens). Then we gave the boys a chance to socialize and stretch their legs when we were back at the cars.

As a side bar, this was the last outing for my Oboz Hiking Boots. They were 4 years old and had seen MANY miles. Their last big trip was the Mama Bears Backpacking Trip in Yellowstone. (Subscribe for an update when I release that article!) It was there that I realized they simply had no lugs left and it was time for a new pair. I am now breaking in a pair of Merrell Moab 3 Boots and love them.
