Cross Country Skiing- Not Enough Snow

Finally, mom had acclimatized well enough to head up to the mountains to visit with my brother’s family and do some cross country skiing. We were sad to discover when we arrived that the area hadn’t gotten any new snow in a while. The trails were pretty firm, but thankfully not icy. Oh well, it made it easy to pull the Chariot with its Ski Attachments

We stopped for just a quick photo at what mom calls “The Lookout”. Grey was napping and I wanted to keep moving so he would stay asleep.

It was so sunny, I was worried Grey would get overheated while he was sleeping behind the plastic wind screen. Greenhouse effect anyone? He did get fussy when he woke up and used one of his newest words, “walk”, to request a break from sitting. But he doesn’t move fast yet and we still had a couple of miles to return to the car, so I put him back in and he mostly accepted it.

We left the trail hoping that a big ol’ storm would come in the next few days while we were staying up here so we could ski in some soft stuff soon. Check out the following post to see how you sometimes have to be careful what you wish for…
