Rico Seco Snow Walk
For our first real snowy adventure this winter, Superpa and Ma took us up a steep and deep (with powder!) trail at Rico Seco near San Luis, Colorado. The grandparents had snow shoes (I had forgotten my MSR Snowshoes at home) so they led the way to pack down a trail. Superpa even carried Grey in his Poco Plus Backpack up all the steepest parts, even though he should still be resting to recover from his back surgery. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why he is called SUPERpa.
After we were back to the car, I put on Grey’s Toddler Snow Boots so he could have some fun on his own 2 feet. I suddenly realized we have nearly matching snow boots, although his are Merrell and mine are Colombia Snow Boots. He had fun marching through the deepest parts and watching icy snowballs made by Superpa floating like icebergs down the stream.

You guys are tough. How do you take that coldness.
So beautiful and what a brave and adventurous little fellow Grey is❤️
My Keen hiking shoes look real similar to your Columbia snow shoes, although I’m not hiking in any snow brrr I might slip and fall, but I wouldn’t get hurt, I’d just slide😆and laugh at myself
Good gear makes all the difference to be able to actually enjoy the winter. Otherwise we would just be stuck inside for months! I love the Keen brand too, I have their hiking sandals for adventures with lots of water crossings… when it’s a lot warmer!
